In the business landscape, startups often evoke a sense of admiration. Their agility, customer-centric mindset, and rapid pace seem like a secret recipe for success. Established organizations, however, grapple with a different reality—a complex web of functions, hierarchies, and stakeholders have made these coveted capabilities particularly elusive. Enter the concept of ambidextrous organizations—those that skillfully wield both predictability and adaptability, compliance and velocity, and standardization and creativity. Ambidextrous organizations defy convention, seamlessly blending the best of both worlds. Using concrete examples, we will explore how established organizations can level up their startup game. We’ll break it down into different phases, each with its own goals, hurdles, and practical approaches to managing change.

About the speaker

Bruno Collet helps organizations become more adaptable and value-focused.

For nearly twenty years, he has supported leaders in their transformation, particularly to clarify priorities, align the organization with its strategy, or build agile teams. He has collaborated with companies such as Hydro-Québec, the Société de Transport de Montréal, Desjardins Bank, National Bank of Canada, and Industrial Alliance.

Holder of an MBA and a Master's degree in Computer Science, Bruno Collet is PMP certified and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). He teaches organizational design at ESG+ UQAM, designs a supply chain transformation course at McGill University, and is a trainer with Quebec’s order of HR professionals and PMI Montreal.
